The small village of Bellanaleck is located on the river section between Upper and Lower Lough Erne and is just a short cruise from the county town of Enniskillen. It is ideally placed to explore all of Upper and Lower Lough Erne. There is a Bar and Restaurant on site and a grocery shop and take-away just a 10 minute walk away.
Informations
To see: The large town of Enniskillen has a number of attractions, including heritage sites, great shopping centres and leisure facilities
To taste: Many restaurants and cafes serve an Ulster Fry for breakfast. It consists of bacon, egg, sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes and to top it off, a selection of fried breads. Will really set you up for the day ahead!
To Know: Upper Lough Erne (the most southern of the 2 lakes) is filled with dozens of islands, so it is more like a meandering river than a lake. Some islands have jetties and offer perfect lunchtime picnic stops.
Most important: Devenish Island – one of the most important monastic sites in Ireland.
